In the meantime, I saw this quirky little kit the other day and got hit with a blast from the past. It reminded me of Mrs. Pelling, my second grade teacher, who introduced me to Mrs. Piggle Wiggle in the fall of 1961. I was 6. Mrs. Pelling was a huge influence on me and helped me fall in love with school and learning. Thank you, Mrs. Pelling!
Mrs. Pelling at Richman Elementary School in Fullerton, California introduced me to Mrs. Piggle Wiggle at the beginning of my second-grade year in 1961. She lived in an upside-down house and my 6 year-old mind built a picture of her that looked remarkably like the Granny with her pet pig below. Today my mind sees an energetic, lively 60-something woman who smiles without end. She would surely have something to say about the hot tempers and whiny voices. I wonder - are her pig’s other social graces as impeccable as his table manners?
